I still haven't seen an IRC client which has a non-crowded interface, clean, HIG-compilant (and Ubuntu-integrated, with GTK+, notifications, etc.). So, here it is (or an attempt, rather!), for Ubuntu App Showdown.

Day two: it now works!
Using irclib as a backend, it now allows to connect to a network and join channels, among others. See some more snapshots!
I'm looking forward to this, what other functionality will it provide? Unity notifications when your name in mensioned etc? Anyway mate goodluck, also promise me you'll include smilies and an easy way to install new smilie "packs" etc :P thanks mate!
Yes, Unity notifications are already working! Yay!
Yeah, I also intend to add smilies among others. It'll be done in some days, though, before I'll try to make the core work. Right now I'm working on nicknames, it shouldn't take long. The idea is to provide graphical alternatives to commands (though still offering commands).
By the way, thank you for the interest you've shown! When I upload to my PPA I'll let you know in case you want to try.
